2016 London Cycling Awards – WINNERS!

A bevvy of awesome and inspiring projects, organisations, retailers and individuals were acknowledged and celebrated at this year’s London Cycling Awards. The ceremony was hosted by the very cool Spin London festival in London’s trendy Truman Brewery and our presenter was the delightful (and surprising!) comedian and actor, Michael Smiley.

The winners, who were all up against some incredible nominees, included Howies,  Litelok, Mercedes and Brothers on Bike to name but a few. These champs were all awarded trophies in front of the London cycling scene’s brightest and best, chosen as winners by our panel of expert judges.  The most exciting award to hand out was, of course, Best Bike Shop as it was our only public vote this year and a hotly contested one with over 1600 people casting their votes. It went to the formidable Brixton Cycles for their inspirational crowdfunding successes and for just being the definition of a good, fair cycling shop.

We were also lucky enough to present one of the many voters with a fabulous new Bobbin bicycle, well done to winner Simon Sterne and a massive thanks to Bobbin. We also want to give a huge thanks to our awards sponsor, Osbornes Cycling Injuries, our media partner Londonist and to Spin London for hosting the night.

“What better way to celebrate this than to honour some of those whose vim and vigour, innovation and determination, has helped to make this happen?” said LCC CEO, Ashok Sinha of the awards.

“From highway engineers to museum curators, entrepreneurs to community workers, they have all made a sterling contribution to the vitality and zest of London’s cycling culture. We salute their achievements in this year’s London Cycling Awards.”
